What's new V2.11:
There is no Shareware-Version anymore ! You can get Q-Start now as Freeware !!! The Freeware-Version support up to 8 Mods, the full Version supports 16 Mods. You are allowed to give the Freeware-Version to your friends. No selling / no modifications - please !
There is a new menu-point in the settings-menu : QuakeWorld.
Every entry here will only be executed when you start a QuakeWorld-Client
( like "rate" or "max_fps" ).
I've moved the Selection of the Resolution from the main-menu
to the settingsmenu.
On the Main-Page you'll find a new Button : "Config"
. With a click on this button you'll enter the new
Multiplayer-Menu where you can adjust a lot of Server-
and Client-Settings.
The new version of Q-Start now supports the QuakeWorld-Server
( incl. Maplist-Editor )!
Q-Start can now show the opriginal Mapmnames.
If there is a "Wave-File" named "Q-Start.wav"
in your Quake-Directory and if there is a Soundcard
installed in your System, Q-Start will play this File when you
click on the "Quake-Now"-Button
before Quake will be launched... ( just for fun ).
What's new V 2.00: ( 12.11.1998 )
After getting much positv feedback
for the startmap-selection in Q2Start, I've now added this feature
to Q-Start. You can select the startmap directly from the mainmenu
out of all available maps in a pulldown-menu.
Q-Start therefore searches the files
"id1\pak0.pak" and "id1\pak1.pak" and the
subdirectory "id1\maps" for maps. Afterwards all found
maps are listed in a pulldownmenu for your selection. If you choose
a special Mod like "Rogue" or "Painkeep" Q-Start
will in addition search for maps in the "pak0.pak" which
is found in the current gamedirectory and for maps in the subdirectory
"\maps\" of the current gamedirectory. The maps found
here are separated from the normal maps with "************".
If you choose a startmap Q-Start adds the command "+map xxxxx"
the the commandline ( xxxxx stands for the choosen map ).
Bugfix:
I've fixed the problem with the "locked"
button after deleting the choosen game ... Thanks to MagixX (
www.magixx.de )
The actual commandline is shown before executing Quake.
Version 1.92 has now a link
between gamebutton and the "config" used with the game
!!!
1.
Now it is possible to start
good old Dos-Quake with "qlaunch" for Windows-TCP/IP-support.
I've added a Switch named "Qlaunch"
on the "Settings"-Page in the lower-right corner. When
You start Dos-Quake with Qlaunch Q-start uses the command-line
"qlaunch quakeudp.dll
quake.exe ( + all what's in the "Others"-section of
Q-Start ).
2.
In the settingsmenu You can
add now the filenames of 4 different config-files ( for Your scripts,
aliasses and Your special keyboard-layout ). Afterwards You can
easily choose them in the mainmenu. So You are now albe to change
Your special cfg quick ! The config-files must be placed in your
Quake-directory ( where You can find also the program Q-Start
). They will be launched by Q-Start with "+exec ..\mycfg.cfg".
You can also place the configs in a special config-directory (
e.g. "Configs" ) but you must add the relativ path before
the name of Your config-file ( in this example it must be "configs\mycfg.cfg"
). The maximum length for path and filename is 24 characters.
3.
Ok - I've also fixed a little
bug with the playername ( sometime the name was scambled with
another commandlineoption ).
Have I ever told You, that
You can add a port after the serveradress in the multiplayermenu
?
You can write the port directly
behind the serveradress ( seperated with a ":" ) ( e.g.
123.456.789.123:27666 ).
What's new V1.81, V1.82
: ( 05.09.1998 )
Correction of the description :
In the description of the "Others"-Setting
I wrote "-_windowed_mouse..." and "-m_filter...".
The correct switches are "+_windowed_mouse..."
and "+m_filter...".
I've fixed the error after editing a serveradress in the multiplayer-menu ( the following adress was overwritten ) !
In addition I've made some changes
:
1. I removed the "Save"-Button
- Q-Start now saves automatically on every time you leave a menü.
So you'll never see that "warning-screen" again...
2. I also removed the button "Voodoo
2". Now the menu you get after pressing the "Voodoo"-button
depends on the activated Voodoo-Type.
I've solved this by sending the command only when "QuakeWorld" is started...
What's new V1.71:
( 08.07.1998 )
Not much - only some optical changes.
One hint:
If there is no Voodoo-card choosen
on the "Settings-page" or if "Gl-Quake" is
not selected, the pulldown-menu is disabled ( In this case you
can switch the resolutions in the option-menu of the game). If
you select "Voodoo 1" only the resolutions 512*384 and
640*480 are available. "Voodoo 2" supports all resolutions
!
